Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "2005 Tacoma Exhaust Preferences", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have an Xrunner...and i think the Exhaust sounds freakin awsome...got a nice growl to it and not overly loud and annoying...it has enough sound to let others know its there...but not sound like I am trying to race everyone
its on aim, and its a ss 18 inch magnaflow.......sounds great......much improved even from the x runner exhaust. its very mellow at low throttle, a little deep hmmm, little more throttle it sounds nice and mean. i would def do it again.
I had looked at magnaflow as a possibility. What were the inlet and outlet, sizes and offsets of the muffler? Was there any trouble getting it mounted up since its shorter than the stock muffler is? Still using the stock mounting brackets or no?

it was center to center, 2.5 in/outlet. i did use the stock brackets, and it is close enough in lenght that it fit. my dad and i welded it in, went real smooth.
i dont have anywhere to host the vid from is the problem, but i get lots of compliments on the sound. the part number is.........14256...here is the site i bought it from.........
Do we have any more information on upcoming exhausts or possibly even some exhausts that exist today for the 05 Taco?
My friend just got the Banks exhaust for his Titan and it just sounds mean. Granted he's got a V8, but I'd still like to get a little rumble out of this truck as well as any performance gains it might provide.
Jon - Got the clip, thanks. Sounds really good. Has it broken in yet or what that a clip of it new? Either way
