Do a search. This is one of the most discussed topics on the boards. Some popular brands of headers are JBA, SS Autochrome & TRD. There are a couple more though.

I installed the SSAutochrome headers, RAPS, and Dynamax muffler. Gas mileage went up about 2.5 mpg on (19.5 - 20.5) the highway and about 1.5 (15.9 - 17) in town. Significant increase in performance but the gas mileage goes down when you get on it. Stock piping but the Dynamax is louder inside the truck that at the tail pipe. What little the muffler helps is not worth the drone noise to me.

I did similar mods, and got the same increase in mileage. But now with the truck being more responsive I really have to watch out for the 'fun factor' or the mileage gains will be gone. Man, this self-control thing sucks.

Had the JBA ceramic coated headers installed yesterday. Many thanks to Dezert Rida up in Oceanside! Well worth it. The Tundra takes off around 2800 rpm and feels more responsive than it did before the lift and tires. Great mod.

Talking JBAs Rock!!!

I love the response on my truck. After the install of titanium coated JBAs last year, the torque power feels better and better everyday. Love them JBAs....

I've had a couple shops say with the JBA headers, you'll have to keep tightening them up every other month. They said the gaskets shrink thus loosening the bolts. I know alot of you guys said they stay tight. Just wondering if any had problems with them coming loose.

hey chad,

which lock nuts did you use? The oem factory lock nuts or the JBA aftermarket nuts? I've reused the factory oem lock nuts and so far they're good and stay on tight its been 6 months. Sometimes I check them but lately I haven't had any problems.
