Default Has anyone experienced this?

The other day I was driving my 2004 Tundra with the OD off. I noticed as I was in 3rd gear, going down a slight grade at 50 mph, with the accelerator pushed just a little off idle, that the truck began a slight bucking sensation. I'm not sure if it is engine or transmission related. My truck has about 3,200 miles. I've never noticed this before but at the same time I usually drive it with the OD on. Has anyone else experienced this bucking sensation in the same situation? If so, does anyone know what the problem is?

Yes - I have noticed that on both my tundras. It locks the torque converter with just a little throttle pressure and seems to buck and surge a little bit. It only seems to happen going down hills with enough throttle to lock the TC, but not enough to accelerate

Thanks for identifying what it is. Is there a fix for this or is it what we should expect the truck to always do.

My Tundra also does this. Most other vehicles with auto trans do this too. The Dodge I had with the auto did the same thing. My Chevy work truck also does this and sometimes it bucks pretty badly. I am sure it is the lock up converter causing this. I am not sure what if anything can be done about it. Ford had a kit out for some of their vehicles a few years back.
