Question TT Supra fuel pump pressure or flow rate comparison

Does anyone know the stock fuel rail pressure, and what the TT Supra fuel Pump provides? Mine (fuel pump) just arrived and I am thinking about farming out the job of swapping fuel pumps. I am at the same time getting the new Crank pulley installed.Got mine from a member last week. Might as well get them done together. I would like to get my Unichip re-programmed to the same as glen and scotts mapping which is as close to a custom tune as I'll get.

The one I got from Charlie says NAPA 25-061066 on it but I don't have a tape here at work to measure it. I will get one from home and see if I can measure it accurately.

The stock FPR is specified to regulate at 38-44 psi. Changing the pump alone will not change the fuel rail pressure. However, the Unichip set-up ports the FPR reference to the blower boost port, so under boost, the FPR clamps down harder and raises fuel pressure. More boost = more clamping. FYI here's a link to some good information on flow/pressure/voltage rating for various pumps including the Supra. I ended up going with the Walbro 255lph high pressure pump because it was 1/2 the cost of the Supra pump, performs as well, and is almost the exact same dimensions as the stock pump (I'll post some pictures shortly to show this). Install was a breeze, the main issue is running the tank as empty as possible to make handling it easier.

This weekend I hope to look at what my fuel pressure is doing under driving conditions.

I also have a slight pinging problem from about 4200 to redline with the Unichip installed. I've worked with Unichip to pull timing out in this range. We've pulled 10° out and I still have ping. I think the real solution is more fuel, or as mentioned above, water injection. If I run high octane race fuel, I get no ping and a strong pull all the way to the top.

I'm also looking into installing an exhaust gas temp or wideband A/F to keep an eye on things and make sure I'm not leaning out too much. I want to move to the 5.9" pulley, but need to adress this first.

Another thought I had was using a rising rate FMU like this one to push more fuel under boost. What I don't know is if I run a risk of throwing a CEL for too-high a fuel pressure.

This belt part number translates as a 6-rib (061066), 106.6 inch running length (061066).

The injectors are specified as 224-276 cc/min, 13.4-14.2 ohm.

So ASP definitely makes the larger crank pulley's for the 4.7L?

If I'm running an 80mm pulley currently and only producing 3.2 psi of boost at 5,300 rpm, how would I determine what size to make the crank pulley to increase it to 6 psi?

Also, I know most people run underdrive pulleys to reduce the parasitic drag...are there any problems with going the opposite direction and increasing the speed of the accessories with the overdrive pulley's?

Yes, ASP makes them (or used to) but I had to call and ask.

The route I took was to install a smaller pulley on my supercharger.
This increased my boost from around 4 psi to 6 psi along with a big
gain in power. The pulleys are available from Pulley Boys
just call them and tell them what your application is and they will
send you the correct size, cost under $100. This way you can run
your stock belt and not spin you accesories at hyper speed.

One word of caution to all of you talking about bigger injectors,
bigger fuel pump, more boost, etc. The 4.7 is not the stoutest
short block around, this is why the stock boost is under 4 psi
and the supercharger is not equipped with an intercooler.
Toyota doesn't want you upping the pressure because you will
more than likely end up ventilating your block with connecting
rods. If you are still bent on making monster horsepower, replace
the stock rods with some quality H beam units. Here is a link
to a company that sells them: lextreme.com.

With that in mind, I only run the smaller pulley in the winter
(cold dry air) and I never rev it all the way out. The rest of
the time I run the stock pulley and still keep a close eye on
the boost gauge.

I'm not positive, but I think it is a 2.2" which is about 56mm.
I'll have to measure it to be sure though.
