Question Questionable Peformance Parts

I was just doing some browsing of performance parts and thought I might see if these parts were any good or if they are just a scam. Click on the links below to see the parts.

Any info you can provide would be great. Personally, the traction system is what caught my attention.

From what I've read over the years, the electric fan setup does increase HP and torque by freeing up drag on the accessory belt. It doesn't take as much to drive the belt with the clutch fan and stuff removed.

However, I'm unsure how it performs, as I have no personal experience, but would like to try it out.

I'd say look a little further into doing the electric fan, but by no means spend $500 on doing it. If you search JC Whitney, Jegs or Summit, you can find similar set ups for less than half of what they are charging. I know this because I put one on a 96 2wd Tacoma 4 cylinder, and Performance products wanted in the neighborhood of $260 for the same fan I found in Summit for less than $100. It was a good little mod...definately increases responsiveness.

WOOHOO, looks like there are more mods to get. I'd probably go for the no-slip (street friendly). Dumb question, this is for a 2wd truck, right?

I agree treystoys, $500 is by no means worth it for something like that. What is Summit? Summit electrical company? I'll probably stick with Jegs. I just got a catalog in the mail yesterday that I still have to browse.

PS- Did a little research on JC Whitney. Found this:

Would this work just as well?

FYI - Summit typically has a much better choice of products, better availabilty of stocked products, & much better customer service - and yes, I have spent well in excess of $2,500 worth of misc. parts with each of them over the years.
