Default SS Autochrome Version II compared to previous...

SS Autochrome has a Version II header kit on the market now. Anyone, have any info on these compared to the previous versions? I'm still waiting for a reply from the company and will post it once I get it.

I E-mailed them yesterday and asked what the improvements were between versions. I also mentioned I was aware of a few problems they had with the first version. I have not received a reply yet. I will post it when I get it.

Good luck. I emailed them about 2 months ago when they still had them on ebay for 100 bucks, i never did get a response. Not very good way to get or keep customers if you ask me.

the right header, did you have a problem with clearance for your o2 sensor because of bung placement? If not, that is what the "improved" part of it is. With the old headers (I have them) there is no clearance to remove or install the o2 sensor without taking the header off the block. I just did that last night. 3.5 hours it took all told.

I bought some headers from them and they didn't fit right. The a-holes refused to answer my emails and I had to spend a good chunk of change to have them modified to fit my vehicle. If you look at their site on ebay, everytime someone gives negative feedback, they make a belligerent response. I wouldn't buy anything from those a-holes. I think its called Stone Mountain Racing on ebay.

I think that they have had so many customers trying to get in cheap, that they could care less. I got them cheap, havent had any other problems besides the damn o2 sensor, which is now fixed. If I could have justified the JBA's in that group buy that just happened, I would have bought a set, but the SS are ok, holding up well actually. I'm sure that 30% of them were bad, thats what happens when you rush to meet demand, and for a while, they were getting snapped right up.

Dang, those guys make headers too.....SS Autochrome is known for making crappy products in the Honda world, especially all their turbo exhaust manifolds. I have been in the Honda scene the last 4 years and now just bought my Tundra. I would never consider SS Autochrome product for anything I own.

Well, unless they've gotten CARB aproval(last I heard they did not), the SSAutochrome are a no-go in Cali. And a little rust on headers, not sure I've seen any headers that don't have rust, unless it's a show car that's barely/never driven. /Mike

I admit I am in New York - not familiar with Cali. inspections.

But looking at a stock set of 4.7 headers - which look cobbed for being Factory,
seems that if a set of after market were not obviously too shiny that they could pass for stock.

they are JUNK, in the MKIII supra comunity, alot of work has to be done on the Turbo manifolds to get to fit and work properly, your better off spending your money on a product that works right off the bat!
