Default WS Transmission Fluid

I was asking my local toyota dealers service department and also there parts department about the new toyota WS transmission fluid and neither one had any idea what I was talking about. They insisted that the new fluid was the T-IV. I think they finally believed me when I pulled out a sequoia manual and pointed out the transmission fluid specs. Another dealer's service department told me the WS stood for world standard and was designed to run the life of the sealed transmission. Could someone who is familiar with the new WS fluid please give me some information and details on the new fluid. I am a new owner of a 05 sequoia with no transmission dip stick and would like to know the particulars on the WS fluid.
Thanks

No one else makes it and it can't be mixed with any other ATF. Your service departments lack of knowledge shows you why you don't want them to service it. If they mix it your transmission will slip. If you do service it do it at 50K miles not 60K when your warranty will be up. That way if they screw-up and mix the WS with type IV then you will have 10K miles of warranty to deal with them fixing your truck. The only way they will service mine is if I decide to have it done at 50K and then I want to talk with the tech that is doing the work and be assured that he has the WS fluid and knows that is all that will go into my transmission.

We know of no one else that makes an ATF suitable for transmission requiring WS. The new ATFs are more robust and good for many more miles, but everything does have a lifespan. The best way to tell would be to send a sample to a testing lab such as Blackstone. A $20 test is much cheaper than changing expensive fluid or running with bad fluid.

The good thing is that by the time I get to 50K miles the 2007's should be out and the dealer should be use to doing fluid changes with WS ATF.
