Default ProScan OBD-II - Says it gives dyno measurements

So I'm reading through an older 2003 post of some of your experiences with different OBD-II scanners and checked out the ProScan site. Their v2.0 software has a claim that it can produce reliable dynamometer readings on torque and HP, along with some other cool features. How accurate would a dyno reading be from one of these scanners? While the Dyno feature alone is intriguing to me, if it's true, I can't see why more people don't use these instead of using a true dyno. I've never had my vehicles dyno'd so I'm not familiar with how the readings on a true dyno are captured so is it feasible that the onboard computer could produce enough data to be able to give accurate torque & HP readings as well?

On a side note, it also has a dragstrip timeslip feature which it says it captures 60 foot time, 0-60 time, 1/8 mile time & speed, 1000 foot time, and 1/4 mile time & speed.

My 2 cents.

Given if you to compare with someone with the same ob2 scanner. The factors that may skew the results are

- Drive terrain
- wind
- pavement condition
- weather
- traffic condition
- wieght

I have the auto eungenuity obd 2 scanner and has the software to do the
0-60, quarter mile measurement and I found kinda combersome to use with just me on the trunk.

Anyway, It is just a gauge.

Best way is gauge is to do a group dyno run and a group quarter mile run. This is the best way to do base line comparison on mods.
