Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "does anyone have a unichip?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
i just orderd a unichp for my 04 tundra. it was $800.00 but it was the only speed chip i could find. i have cold air induction and a flowmaster, it is supposed to enhance each additional performance product, addjust fuel and air mixture for additional hp.
the guy at arrow speed said i should get 30% more hp.
ant comments out there??????????????

30% is way high.
I have one. i have not dyno'd yet with it, but will be soon. 9% maybe, but 30% is a rather high figure.

yeah it's 9-10% tops, but that's a lot...25 horse or so, and itll react different through the rpm range.
this is REALLY something you should search for, there are at least two extremely long, gorily detailed threads on unichipping the 4.7, complete with graphs and dyno numbers, since the trucks which were used to create the different maps for the unichip are all on these forums.
yea, 30% seems a bit high. he programed it for cold air and a 50 series flowmaster. plug and play.
i just got the flowmaster yesterday and its shifting out early. arrowspeed said itl fix that.
Is it a plug in or should you take the car for a dyno to tune it?
its a plug in. its plugs in the line of the ecu and comes with the wirring harness.
tell them what add ons you have and theyll program it at the factory. if you add on after, you can take it to a performance shop to program it.
it s expensive because it is programed exactly for what ever vehicle you have.
not like other chips that you just order and plug it in.
