Default 05 tacoma question?

I have a 05 tacoma with about 2500 miles on it. Ever since i bought it the engine has a loud ticking sound at idle sound like it is coming from the valve covers. Is this normal valve train noise for a toyota motor?

Thanks
Scott

The Variable Valve Timing system is inherently noisier but i'm sure we all agree that the performance is worth th "tick"

Its becuase youre lacking the JDM "VVT-i " emblems to make the motor happy.
