Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "TACOMA:loud ticking sound at idle", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a 05 tacoma with about 2500 miles on it. Ever since i bought it the engine has a loud ticking sound at idle sound like it is coming from the valve covers. Is this normal valve train noise for a toyota motor?
The Variable Valve Timing system is inherently noisier but i'm sure we all agree that the performance is worth th "tick"
