Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "What exhaust system are you using", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Hey everyone I am getting my 02 Tundra next week. It is a v8 Access cab. I am wondering what exaust systems you all are using. Dual/Single and which give you good performance and sound while not hurting fuel milage too much. Also does anyone know where I can find sound clips of differnt exausts?
That link will help you with your question. For me, I have an '03 Access Cab, and I have the TRD single inlet/dual outlet exhaust (as well as some other toys). Here are some clips of it in action.

Man, I haven't been to Brittmore since 2001-2002. Street racing on that road and not a bad sounding truck.
Yeah, I work off of Brittmoore, and the place where everyone went to race has since been deserted. They have these huge speed bumps there now. Never was the same after that big bust.
Sorry to get off topic. Thanks for the compliment though
I too have the TRD dual outlet exhaust and did a bunch of research on them before I bought it for my DC. I had the duals previously on my AC and loved them so I decided to go w/ what I knew worked.
All in all, the TRD's are only good for sound and looks. There is no power gain from them at all...maybe some in the mid to upper range, if any. BUT they sound great and look great.
Those sound and video clips are really accurate to what they sound like too.
Just wish someone would film some normal around town driving rather than always hot rodding around, because that is not how most of us drive everyday.
What every route you plan to go, be sure to do lots of reasearch on it. It will make you a happy camper in the long run.
Also check out my gallery for more videos of my TRD exhaust. For my money Bassani and TRD sound the best of the ones I have personally heard. Some times I sort of wish I had a Bassani muffler on my TRD duals. I like the slightly louder sound of Bassani but the looks of the TRD. But on long trips I'm happy I don't have a loud exhaust.

I have a Flowmaster Delta 40, 1 in 2 out. I am not really happy with it. When it is cold, it sounds perfect. As soon as it warms up (after a couple of blocks), it has a terrible "drone" between 1700-1900 rpms.
I would be interested in other mufflers I could put on. It would not be an expensive change since I have the duals already done. I was thinking of a Flowmaster Delta 50, but not sure I would be happy with that.
Seems alot guys here have been happy with Magnaflow.
