Default new exhaust

Just got a bankspower monster cat back exhaust for my 05 DC ltd 4x4. Wow! what a difference. I read alot of tundra owners go with borla or flowmaster, and Im curious in the difference between products.

I have a flowmaster delta 40 1-2.5 in and 2x2.25 out. I am not happy with it. Resonates badly at 1700-1900 rpms. Significant lower end loss, but improvement on the topend.

It does sound good though... especially before the muffler heats up.

lakers428, what are your impressions of the Banks? I also have an '05 DC Ltd and am leaning toward buying the Banks, but wonder if the exhaust sound intrudes into the cabin. I really don't care (I fondly remember the days when a "complete" exhaust system consisted of headers and header mufflers), but my wife and daughters want something more mellow. Have you noticed any change in mileage or power (seat of the pants) yet?

Thanks in advance.

The banks system is not too loud for the cabin, but lets you know its there during ignition. Quiet at idle but gives the V8 some sound when accelerating. You also feel it in the gas peddle which I enjoy. I have kids and they still fall asleep in the car. Its still too new for mileage and power seems about the same, but you 'feel' the V8 power a little bit more.

That's too bad rick. The banks system is a quiet assasin. Not too loud, but definitely kicks in during acceleration. No loss in low end and a little quicker in the high end. My 05 has the revtek 2.5 coil spacer lift w/ 1.25 rear blocks, Goodyear HP 275/60/tires on 20" KMC Ace chrome wheels, aluminum trd skid plate, and line-x.

Update...

I just swapped my Flowmaster Delta 40 out for a Delta 50. The shop was more than happy to do this for the cost difference of the muffler. And actually billed it as labor so that there was no additional tax.

I like the 50 series Delta MUCH better. Still very deep and throaty sounding, but tamed it down so a level that is not at all offensive. The resonating problem is still there, but much more tolorable.

From a performance perspective... I have only driven it 10 miles with the 50 series, but seems to have gotten some of my lower end back and sacrificed part of my top end gains that I felt with my 40 series. This is fine with me.

All in All, I am much happier with the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow.
