Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Bassani owners!", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Can't say I noticed a change in either one, had them on for 2 years or so.
He's kidding you! The last time I looked, Yellbird had the top rear wheel HP in the Dyno thread for a non-supercharged Tundra. Just don't pull along side him at a stop light! I've had Bassani duals on my 4x4 for about 45K miles and if I thought I would gain power by taking them off, I would probably do it. It will run 0-60 in the low to mid 7's and still get 20 MPG on the highway.
__________________ ADDING POWER HAS NEVER BEEN SO FAST!
I've been running Bassani duals for almost 2 yrs. also. My gas mileage pretty much stayed the same & I felt a slight power increase in the upper RPM range.....But that's just from my butt dyno! Check out my gallery to see a short vid if you wanna hear it!
Are you refering to what they advertise as their "x-pipe or crossover" exhaust system? If so, then yes, I have that one. It has an "x or crossover" in the muffler itself. If that's not what you're talking about, then I'm sorry
the muffler is dual in & dual out. I remember looking through the holes & seeing the piping "x" in the middle & I could literally see right back out the other end! I'll take some pics of the whole system this coming weekend if I have time. It'll give a better visual.
I have Bassani on my 05 DC. It was an option from dealership so I got it installed. Sounds great. Mine is the single in dual out. Have no idea of its change in mpg from stock since its been on since the truck had only 3miles on it.
Yeah, that is what I meant by x pipe. Is it a dual inlet, or single inlet?
X-pipe is not related to a single-in/dual-out muffler. An X-pipe is the intermediate portion of dual exhaust cars, between headers and the catback, which crosses over in order to equalize exhaust pulses coming from both sides of the engine. Just for clarity...
Any more opinions of mileage and performace effects?
My brother has the true dual Bassani with x-crossover muffler on his truck. It sounds flat awesome, especially when you take the baffles out of the tips. As for performance and mileage he hasn't noticed much change positive or negative. He did say if anything it helped power but it is hard to tell. He has a few videos of it in his photo gallery.
