Default 2005 tacoma 6 speed lag

I recently bought my 2005 tacoma 6 speed V6. If i change gears above say 2500-3500 rpms there is a lag almost like i'm riding the gas. dealer says it an electronic thing and they can't adjust. sounded like BS to me. has anyone else had simular problems???? Any ideas to fix? thanks, kenny

There's a device called a dash pot. It's on the TB and when you let off, it slows down the butterfly so it doesn't snap shut. I bent mine back and no problems over the past 60k miles..

The 05 uses a complete throttle by wire system and I agree the logic Toyota programmed for the throttle control sucks.

I don't know if it gets better on its own over time, our I have just gotten used to it.
