The Purolators look to be an exact copy of the Toyota branded item. Both are now made in Thailand, and probably by the same sweat shop. So buy what ever's cheaper.
I haven't seem any authoritative comparisons of different brands of "paper" air filters. The main difference some folks notice is the quality of the rubber edge and how well it seals in the air box. There likely are quality differences, but I have only seen testing against oiled cotton (K&N, et al) and oiled foam.
I buy Denso filters from an online source whenever I need any parts...I order a couple of filters at the same time. It spreads the shipping cost. Locally, I think I'd get WIX or Purolator.

Ken,
It is interesting that you mentioned Purolator. I use the Pureone oil filter but I have never tried their air filters. I have access to an Advance Auto that sells Purolator products. I may have to check them out. I'm not sure of the quality of their air filters but if they follow the oil filters, they should be a good replacement and of good quality.
Maybe someone can respond that is using them in their Tundra and can verify the quality.
I've been running fram air filter since the oem was ditched almost 100k ago. Paper filters don't deteriorate like oil filters because they don't get chemical on them, just dirt and dust. Any paper filter is better than k&n for filtration.

It may not be noticable, but is there any difference in power using the Fram as opposed to Denso? V8 Toilet got a little faster track time using the stock Denso air filter vs. TRD. I wonder if Denso would perform better than Fram or Purolator. If Denso doesn't make a difference in the way the 4.7 runs then buying the Fram or Purolator would be a good option.
Since you have been using Fram for about 100K, how has it performed for you?
My truck didn't feel stronger till almost 100k. Had alot of power when new then as I got used to the tq, it felt like I need more but as my mileage got closer to 100k it felt like my truck got stonger. Maybe it's just in my head but it does tow better than before, more get up. I actually went back to oem twice, at 40k and 60k, there's no difference in power that I noticed. I change the filter every 20k. The filters have just a slight gray to it when I change them, both oem and fram so it was a better cost saving to go fram.
