Default Exhaust tinging sound

Does anybody's exhaust ting and ping when it's heating up/ cooling. I think it might be realted to heat shields that are under/over the exhaust pipes?? Anybody got a fix or simular problem? can dealer do anything?

I thought the truck being new was the reason but I heard it last night (1 year old now)

I am interested in this questions as well.

Mine does it to and I don't think it can be called a problem, it's simply the sound of metal parts under there rapidly cooling down.

Default exhaust pinging

Ticking and pinging is normal heat expansion and contraction. My 04 DC is more pronounced than my 00 AC was, I think because of the echo off the side steps. I didn't have side steps on the AC and the sound was much less noticeable. I just tune it out.

If you think our Tundra's ping, you ought to hear my Harley ping after a long ride! It "dings, pings, and tings" for 10 to 15 minutes after it is shut off!
