Default TRD s/c problem

i have an 03 tundra v8 and just recently (about 3 weeks ago)added the trd s/c. i wanted the sos but got tired of waiting. anyways im pulling away from a buddies house up to the light, im produceing maybe 4lbs of boost and the s/c makes a weird noise. the boost gauge did not indicate a spike, and judging from past experiences it didnt sound like a spike either. to be honest, i dont even know it a roots type blower could spike. after that the truck died. she would start back up but she would only run for a second. sounds like a vacuum hose popped off to me. i hope its that simple. tell me what you guys think...you always have answers when i need them.

its dark as hell so im gonna check it out tomorrow in the daylight, as for tonight...i think a good drinking session is in order. LOL

Did you make sure to solder the red wire that attaches from the TRD ECU to the Factory ECU.
A faulty crimp connector would cause a hiccup. It needs to be soldered.
Maybe the belt fell off?
Breather hose from valve cover to intake hose blew off?
PCV hose blew off?
Your making to much power and keep blowing the hoses off
Let us know tomorrow what you find.
I'll have a cold one or 2 tonight with ya to help with repair tomorrow. "CHEERS"

i just checked out my truck and everything seems to be in place. i didnt check the little red wire yet because i was ill equiped lets say. i did however notice a small fitting on the driver's side of the engine block with nothing on it. not sure what's supposed to be there if anything?

i just remembered that yesterday when i pulled up at my buddies house, i stopped abruptly and put the truck in park and a gatorade flew from the back seat and hit the gas pedal(sounds like bull sh*t huh?) and reved up the s/c to about 4lbs. i know its bad to do that so i was worried but everything seemed fine. think this might have an affect on it.

Can you post a picture and describe the location of the fitting?

Post some pics of the S/C and vac lines and fittings
Let us see what your seeing.
Or look in my gallery at the S/C pics and see if your set the same.
The only real difference is the 10th inj, and the 32 bit computer logic.

all the vac lines look the same. i'll have to go back and take a pic of the fitting under the truck. you dont think the motor producing boost in park could have caused it. this is what i think it is. i think i need to perform a vacuum test or something.

You have a boost gauge on it , since you know your readin 4lbs of boost in park. The other half of the gauge is a vac gauge and it should be reading
17-20inHg when idleing. Boost in park? Hmmmmmmmm. I went out and tried it on my truck. Didnt seem to hurt anything.
Did the check engine light come on?
Are you sure maybe its not the belt making noise? Try lubing it and see if that helps.
Please get a pic of the fitting your interested in.
Ill wait here for you to get it, if you wish.

What noise did S/C make when it failed? Was it mechanical or pneumatic?

18-19 inHg is right on the money so the S/C is ok in my book.
If its the ones (fittings) i am thinking of,
It is a coolant drain for the block. Kinda has a "J" shape or hook to it?
Is it running funny now or making funny noises now?
When you hit boost at idle the S/C is gonna make a scream noise, its trying to boost against nothing. It needs a pressure or load to make boost efficiently, otherwise you hear it all go out the exh.
Heres a pic of the fitting- it is a coolant drain for the block.

Make sure there is fuel in it.
Check red wire and all fuses if possible.
Tow to dealer and see what they say, it should be under the 5/60 warranty, its part of the power train, since you had it installed at the dealer.
Might even be under the 8/80 emissions since it wont run well.
Let us know
