Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Who has Downey headers on their V8?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Am about to order the TRD headers, however at $900 they are a little steep and the JBA are too short for my liking. My local shop can custom fab a new stainless Y system. I know someone out there has Downey headers. What do you think about them??

Merv,
I've had them on for almost a year and I still enjoy getting on the throttle. It wakes up mid-range quite a bit, and I have no exhaust leaks or check engine lights. I've got about 8K miles since I put them on.
Whaaaaazzzzaahhpp Ted!!! How's it going?? I hope you got to get that car in your sig-pic slideways leaving rubber all the way through the turn! Everything is bolt on including the pipe that goes to the cat. Then I had a custom cat-back exhaust made. I didn't want it loud while cruising on the freeway, but yet noticeable at idle and when getting on it. I hope all is well.

Thanks!! Sounds like this will be the next major mod! Your bros at Downey do it right!
Had a blast in that 600hp nascar!! The bummer is that they put rev limiters on them so old motoheads like me do try and go nuts with 'em!! Got it up to 136mph tho and wanted more, but they pace you and will only let you go faster IF you pay for more lap time!
