Transmission Oil Level
I just flushed my transmission oil level yesterday. Before doing the work (on level ground), I checked the level of the engine while cold and it was right in the same spot as the 90 degree bend in the dipstick, well above the marking indicators. After driving for 15 minutes, the level had dropped to below the two notches indicated the appropriate level for a hot engine.
After flushing through 16 quarts and driving the truck for 30 minutes, the level was in the same spot as before and this morning before driving it was at the bend again.
I realize the level at operating temperature is most important, but it seems odd that the cold level is so high.
If anyone can provide some insight it would be appreciated.
