Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "check engine light?", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
For all those that have experienced this problem On the check engine light going off what were your problem's? Mine deceided yesterday to go off and I tend to beleive it's the O2 sensor i've been reading in the forurms if that's the case when your o2 sensor is going bad what problem's do you look for because My engine has been running fine

The first time mine was the o2 sensor right bank. The about a week later the dam light came on again, I was like mother ******!!!!!!!! Ran the code it was fuel evac, which is unscrew you gas cap and put it back on. (worked for me!) Tank pressure was low.
If your light dosen't go off in a day or two try a new gas cap.
Plus... if you're in a county that uses that new "inspection system" at 30-friggin'-dollars a pop... PER VEHICLE, PER INSPECTION , it probably WON'T pass inspection anyway, until you fix the damn thing!
I won't get on my soapbox here over this, but suffice it to say, IMHO this "new" computer inspection set-up bull$hit is... JUST F$@* WRONG!!!

seem's there are a lot of unhappy tundra owner's on this topic Mine lasted a wile (118k) so I am not complaining and replacing all oxygen sensor's in mine just to insure no more problem's come out of this..

Yeah you can say that again. There is definitely a few unhappy tundra owners on this topic. Since buying my truck I had the check engine light come one once. The culprit was a bad/clogged MAF and bad 02 sensor. Took it into the dealership two days later, so don't know about gas mileage but the truck had trouble starting and shifting. Unfornately I did not get as much mileage out of my sensors as you did. about 21,000 miles

The check engine light came on in my 05 Tundra at about 7000kms, I didn't notice any difference in performance or the way it was running. It was the right rear O2 sensor. After I got it replaced about an hour later the light came on again. Got it checked and it was the right front 02 sensor this time. Got that one replaced an it has been fine so far.
