Code P0420 showed up but is now not showing

For the second time in the last 30K I got a check light with a engine code P0420. I have a 2000 V-6 5 speed california with 90K. I know that this code says that the first cat on my V-6 is bad but I have a scanner/code reader and I just dumped the code and it hasn't showed up again. I have replaced some sensors in the past and when they were bad if you just reset the Check Engine Light the light came on after a few minutes of driving. I drove over 1500 miles since the light came on and after the reset nothing. There isn't any pending codes either. Any ideas? This is the second time that this code has showed, the previous time was over 15K ago?

Yeah mine too pops on and off but its P0430 bank side 2 (passenger cylinders) yours is the drivers side bank 1 , anyhow mine has been going on/off like 5 times in the month and it's on more than I like to see,


So for someone willing to respond that knows, is this covered under waranty?

Does this mean it's the oxygen sensor? ( have read the trouble code section )

I believe Toyota extended the emissions warranty to 90K.

Any sensor, cat, or emissions part will have its own dedicated code.
