what's with the sharp cutoff at around 3600 RPM? Was that a shift by the auto tranny?

It's nice to see that the stranglehold was finally released on these numbers, especially after all of the collective money we've spent on JBA products. I tried to get this info from JBA earlier and was told that I'd have to wait until the Oct. issue of "whatever" magazine was in circulation. Sure sounded like BS to me. Why would some magazine have control of specs for later use that could potentially help them sell more product now?
I probably would have purchased their exhaust system if I had seen this earlier. Instead, I did a direct muffler replacement with a Spintech 3333 to go along with the 2011SJT headers. The sound level is exactly what I wanted (nice growl from light to light and virtually un-noticeable at speed), I hope the power increase is similar.

I'm thinking of going with the JBA headers and a gibson muffler replacement. Anyone else have good results with the combination of these 2 items?

Default Peak TQ with Exhaust Only

Interesting that there's actually a published decrease in peak torque with just the exhaust....

Well that is pretty much been the consensus on this forum. Going with a pipe larger than stock will hurt your low end torque and give you more up high. Sounds reasonable to me.

I would have liked to have seen the response with the headers but with stock exhaust. Maybe I'm the only one who's keeping the factory exhaust...

Default do these headers hurt low end hp and tq?

I have the 05 jba's but have not installed them yet because I have some concerns about these numbers I've seen on the dyno sheet. I would like to know if just the headers would decrese hp and tq below 3000rpm, and if so how much? I'm sure many of you have installed these by now and I would really like some more information before I install them and decide they are not what I expected. which is an increase in power, without a lose of hp and tq low end. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I'm in the same boat. I'd really like to see the results with the headers but without the exhaust before I install.

Well, considering how things look on that graph, you would have a huge torque drop below 3000-3500 rpm -- although not as much as with headers/exhaust. Maybe 15-25% better? But that's still a huge loss.

My understanding of VVT-i is that the engines are geared for the low-end, and the variable valve timing kicks in to boost the upper-numbers. For this reason, the stock manifolds are probably optimized for the low-end haul. JBA headers, which are designed to help flow, are going to kill your low end... But would really shine in the upper rpms.

I would say :
street truck -- go for it.
offroad/tow truck -- stay away.

But I may be way off... And anyone with some dyno results, we'd love to see em!
