Default Thump on Initial Drive

I was just wondering if anyone else was hearing/feeling a large thump/clunk after about three to four rotations after initial driving. When I start up my truck and then pull out, a few seconds later I hear a clunk and sometimes if I am braking I feel a kick-back on the brake pedal. I sounds like the noise is coming from the passenger side front tire area. I took it back to Toyota and they "Could not Verify the Problem" Also not sure if 4X4 has anything to do with it.

Anyone else have this problem?
Any suggestions?

4X4
Extra Cab

Thanks,
Dynatnt1

Probably need to lube the driveshaft. There's a thread about it somewhere around here. Don't worry, it isn't a serious problem, but you might have to point the mechanic(s) in the right direction to get it fixed.

Dynatnt1, does your truck have Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)? If so, that clunk on initial start and movement is the ABS diagnostic test. That's expected. From your description, that appears to be the case.

Cool Both

I believe both replies are correct to this situation. You want to look into one of them. We haven't noticed any problems however if you overlook them.

The ABS requires you do nothing, soon you'll get used to it.

The drive shaft lube requires a little grease. Do a search on here for drive shaft and you'll get all sorts of info from what type of grease to use to where to pick up a needle adapter for your grease gun which makes lubing easier and in some cases, possible.

Default clunk

i've noticed the same thunk on my truck. At first i thought it was my tire on one of the many large rocks lining the driveway. A friend told me it was the ABS, but maybe ill look into the grease.
I'm glad you brought it up.
