Default Throttle Position Sensor 10/05

I had the issue last week - cruising around 60 mph and loss of power rolled off to side of road and it "idled" at 2000 rpm. Put in Neutral and it settled to normal idle. Check engine light was on. Mashed pedal and it hesitated then revved hard. Turned ignition off - waited - then back on. No problems since. I took in for oil change and mentioned the problem. They came out and said it was the throttle position sensor and wanted to charge about $400 to replace. I reminded them I have an extended warranty that came with my 'certified vehicle' and they changed their tune. They said there was possibly a service bulliten that would replace it for free - they said they couldn't look it up because of the hurricane???? I hope I don't have that happen in an intersection like I see here. Everyone that has had it done may want to check - if you have paid for it, you can get your money back. I will try to update as I find out.

i had problems with my 02 tundra over a year ago and they replaced my throttle positioning sensor under warranty. it seemed to correct the problem for about 4 months or so. then the same problems came back...the truck revving up while it should be idling, and then the throttle not responding at all until it was all the way to the floor. I then replaced the throttle control motor. everything seemed to be fine(haha). Then a couple of months later, the problems returned. I took it back to the dealer with just a few thousand miles remaning on my warranty(80,000) and they ended up replacing the whole throttle body. well that took place back in about may or so of 2005..once again, i felt relieved of the problem until about a week or two ago that is. Is it worth me even taking it back to the dealership? im out of my warranty, but the thing is about to drive me nuts. any suggestions?

Gentlemen. I have the same exact experience with my 2006 TUNDRA DC SR5. Only that in my case, the condition have repeated itself when going uphill for several minutes in a mountain road. In your opinion, could this be the TLA malfunction? The engine indicator light has come on when this happens. Any advice on where is this part located in the 2006 model. Thank you.
