Default Transmission Shifter "jerking" when put in Park.

Hi, i have an 05 Tundra Regular cab and was curious to know if anyone else on here has this problem. When i shift from Drive to Park and release it, sometimes it tends to move or jerk up after being placed on Park already, this is getting to be annoying and would like to know if i should take my truck in or if anyone has the same problem. Sometimes this happens when i go form Reverse to Park. This only happens a certain percentage of the time, so i know its not normal. Thanks,
Frank

I have the exact same problem with my 2005 DC. Anywher from 50%-80% of the time, when you park the truck, put the shifter in park, then release the brake pedal, the shifter will move upward a little and will make a semi-loud "clicking" sound. It does not always happen, but is most noticeable when parking on an incline. I took it to the dealer to have them look at it, and they said it was normal (of course, that's what they always say). Not satisfied with that answer, we proceeded to pull new Tundras off the lot at random (I chose some, the dealer chose some), and sure enough, they all did it to some degree or another. The service advisor even checked the service manager's Tundra, and it did it at least half of the time as well. Apparently, when the transmission locks after putting it in park, the pull of the gears causes the shifter to butt up against the brake switch lock in the steering column, causing a little movement and the "clicking" sound. Bottom line, they can't do anything about it.

I had the truck in the shop of couple of weeks ago after part of the shifter broke. They replaced the internal parts under warranty, but the shifter still moves and "clicks" even after they took it apart and put it back together. I guess it's just a Toyota and/or Tundra thing...who knows.
