Question Tundra SERVICE Manual question...

I just received my 2005 Tundra Service Manual. There were three possible manuals to purchase 1. Diagnostics 2. Engine 3. Electrical. I ordered the "Engine Manual" (vol. 2) in hopes of getting the drivetrain manual. What came in the mail was Engine & Diagnostics all in one manual. The people @ Toyota Materials are not helpful in relation to being able to state a table of contents on any of the manuals. Due to this I called a local Toyota parts dept. and he only had the 2002 manual which had drivetrain and engine combined, but all models after that are accessed online via the service guys.

Does anyone have the service manual for the 05' Tundra and are able to tell me which one has the drivetrain?

Don't have th '05, but the '04 manuals breakdown as follows:

Vol. 1: Repair Manual (PUB RM1091U1)
Maintenance
Preparation
Specifications
Diagnostics

Vol. 2: Repair Manual (PUB RM1091U2)
Engine
Chassis
Body
Electrical

Vol. 3: Electrical Wiring Diagram (PUB EWD567U)

Volume 2 contains the 'drivetrain' information you seek. I would be interested to know that Toyota changed the volume contents just for the '05 model.

The '05 Tundra Repair Manual set consists of four volumes, with a total of approximately 5800 pages, of which nearly 3000 are concerned with diagnostics provided by the truck's computers! The manuals break down as follows:

VOL. 1: Maintenance, Preparation, Specifications, and Diagnostics pages DI-1 through DI-1475. (Publication No. RM1150U1)

VOL. 2: Diagnostics pages DI-1476 through DI-2943; Engine Mechanical for 1GR-FE engine; Engine Mechanical for the 2UZ-FE engine; Emission Control for the 1GR-FE; Emission Control for the 2UZ-FE. (Publication No. RM1150U2)

VOL. 3: Fuel Systems, Cooling Systems, Lubrication, Ignition, Starting, Charging, Clutch, Manual and Automatic Transmissions, Transfer Case, Propeller Shaft, Suspension and Axle; Brakes, Steering, Supplemental Restraint System, Body Electrical, Body, and Air Conditioning. (Publication No. RM1150U3)

VOL. 4: Electrical Wiring Diagrams for the 2005 Tundra (Publication No. EWD611U)

So the answer to your original question is that Volume 3 contains the stuff about the drive train following the engine, but the stuff about the engine itself is in Volume 2.

Unhappy Wrecked my 2000 Tundra

Does anyone know if there's a place on the web to see the diagrams of the front end of a 2000 Tundra. I smashed mine up and the radiator shoved the fan and maybe some kind of clutch into what I'm guessing is the water pump. Hope I don't have to pull the engine to fix that part of it. The shaft broke off flush with the pump but still turns inside the pump. Need a new bumper, radiator, and all the other stuff below the hood. Hood's fine.

Sometimes a friendly parts guy at a dealership will run you a print of that from his manual.
