Default HELP!!!! Tundra died today - FUEL PUMP

I gave it some gas to get into the exit lane for I-75 in Dallas. The tundra just died. It wouldn't restart. Any ideas? The timing belt was replaced about 4000 miles ago. Thre wasn't any major noise. The check engine light now comes on. Any help would be great. I would like to get some ideas before I have to take it to a delaership.

The only thing I can think of for you to do is have the error code checked. It could be many things but you might see if you're getting "spark" and "fuel". It doesn't sound like an easy fix though.

I was just thinking that you could check the fuel pump fuse or relay if it has one. I'll see what the 05 has.

The 05 appears to have both fuses and relays in the fuel pump circuit. Don't know about the 01 though.

First thing is to read the DTC thats triggering the engine light. That will help in the diagnosis.

One of the fuses was blown. It was the EFI 1 fuse. I replaced it and it still wouldn't start, and it didn't blow the fuse. All other fuses were okay.

I towed it to Autozone to read the codes. There was a link error, so I gave up. Towed it to the dealership. I will let you know what they say.

Thanks for the help.

The dealer said that the fuel pump was shorted. New fuel pump was quoted $258. Labor was quoted at $280. What do you guys think?

That's tough but I could have been much worse. On my 76
Blazer when it died suddenly it was usually the ignition module but we don't have those. I always carried a spare since I got into pretty remote places on beaches in Mexico.
