04 Tundra oil guage upset

O4 4dr 52,000 miles oil gauge flutters with aceleration from one notch up to about three. Since this started I have checked the oil every hundred miles and there doesn't seem to be mnuch change. Anti Toyota Chevy driving friend says I have a bad bearing that could have had a finger print haphazardly placed on it durring manufactoring also says any oil that might be missing is absorbed by the catlatic converter explaining no smoke or steam. Has any one heard of this in a v8? What are the long term prospects? Should I park it at the dealers shop now or watch for oil useage? I am sick about it.

First I would find out what my oil press really is with a direct reading oil press gauge,in place of the oil sender down by the oil filter, do it yourself,take it to the dealer, or independent shop. I would not drive it until I knew. It can be a faultly sender,gauge or a real problem. Don't wait find out.
