Question Correct oil filter?

Can somebody tell me what's the correct Toyota oil filter (part #) for a 2000 Tundra 4.7L

I just picked one up from the dealer, and it's a different number from what is on the truck now.

Default Oil Filter P/N

90915-YZZD3 are what I am running on my 2000 V8. If you do a search you can buy a case of 10 shipped to you from Toyota Dallas. I did last week and split them with a buddy at work. He has a Landcruiser that uses the same one.

If memory serves me correctly, there have been like 3 p/n's for filters since these trucks came out.

Default filter

Had mine serviced at toyota dealer & the RO shows filter #90915-YZZD3, the same as Kens.
Wix replacement for that OE filter is 51348, as per Wix rep
Same truck as yours.

Same delemma here. I had stock pile on oil filter since I bought my tundra in march 2000 when they where selling them for 29 bucks a case of 10. I bought 2 cases back then.

Both my trundra V8 and the LX 470 use the same filter 90915-YZZD5.

Last week, I both a case of 10 from www.trdparts4u.com. When I got it, the part no now is 90915-YZZD3.

The 90915-YZZD3 is about 1/4 inch taller but same diameter. Same pitch on the tread. But the inside plate are different between the two.

90915-YZZD5 plate curves down on towards the filter bottom. left pic
90915-YZZD3 plate curves up away from the filter bottom. right pic

See attached Pic oilfilter1.jpg

I was kinda concern of the new set up but I called 2 dealers, one in napa and one in fairfield and both confirmed that there was a change of filter part sometime during 2002 and 2003 and the new part no now is 90915-YZZD3.

see attached pics. Old filter is right and new filter is left on oilfilter2.jpg pic.

90915-YZZD5 was discontinue. One more thing 90915-YZZD3 is made in thailand atleast the one I got and 90915-YZZD5 was main in Japan.

The one I just picked up is a 9015-YZZD3. The one on my truck now is 9015-YZZB5. Did someone screw up? Or is this just an older part # ??

fastone, you answered my question exactly as I had figured. Thanks! I had to take another look under the hood since you mentioned 9015-YZZD5, but then I looked again at your photo and saw the older filter you had was actually 9015-YZZB5, same as mine on my truck.
