This is a discussion thread titled "VSC Lights", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
This morning my "VSC OFF" and "VSC TRAC" lights came on. '01 Limited Sequoia 4x4 with 33K miles. I put it in 4 wheel drive, took it back out and the light stayed on. When I parked, I turned the truck off and back on and the lights turned off. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help.
I just searched and I can't seem to find anything on it, but I could have sworn I recall a discussion in the past. For reference, we just had the brake tsb performed, but we have been experiencing a pause in acceleration so it is already scheduled to go back in for the VSC recalibration that either wasn't done or done right. Hopefully the lights coming on is related to it. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

It's very likely that your brake fluid is a tad low. It will probably show full on your reservoir markings but just fill it up and I think you'll see the lights will go out and stay off. Good Luck.
Whatever caused the light was an intermittent fault; however it should have logged a code in the computer. I have heard that Autozone will retrieve codes from your computer for free. you could go there before going to a shop. this way you will know if anyone is trying to pull one over on you.
Pardon my ignorance (sometimes it is bliss ) but what is VSC?

just in case you wanted to know what it was as well, "electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control."

I posted this happening to me a few weeks ago. I just came back to see what others had to say and my post is gone???
I wonder if the admin's and moderator's got bored... Either way, when I do an advanced search by threads started by neffster, I get nothing. This is almost as weird a phenomenon as my parking brake light, VSC and TRAC OFF light coming on and staying on...
I am just curious as to how came up with the solution. The reason I am asking is that I've had this happen to me intermittently over the last 7 months. It started to happen more frequently so I took the car into the dealership. They could not duplciate the problem and also stated that they could not locate any trouble codes in the system log. They told me to bring the car in the next time the lights come on and leave the engine running in the service area so that they can connect the computer with the lights on. Nobody at the dealership checked or even mentioned anything about the brake fluid.

Just remember that if the fluid is getting low enough too turn the light on it "normally" means the brakes are getting very low. Don't just "top off" the reervoir with out checking the brakes. New pads are VERY easy to put on and only about $60-70 from dealer. Cheaper at the chain stores.
