About LinkBacksToday was a nice day out so I had the windows down for and extended period of time the first time this year. When I was moving slowly in traffic in first gear I noticed that when I took my foot off the gas and slowed down there came a high pitched rapid chirping noise. When I pressed the gas again it went away. I then sped up and took it out of gear and coasted and no chirping noise. It seems to only occur in first and second gears when I release my foot off the gas.
Anyone got any ideas? Transmission problem?

Re: Weird noise when engine breaking... Check all the usual junk is all I can suggest....U joints, yokes, d-shaft support bearings. Declerating in 1st & 2nd would put a noticable load on those items.

Can you put the truck on jack stands, have someone duplicate the noise while your under it. That will better pinpoint the location.
