Well, I have some questions. Last Sunday I was driving and my truck started to overheat, I let off the throttle and the temp went back down. I pulled over and noticed tranny fluid in the radiator. Intead of risking hurting the transmission I had to towed to Toyota and they a tranmission fluid line in the radiator had burst. So I get a new radiator and they assure me that no antifreeze/water entered the tranny. The pressure in the tranny is much higher than the radiator. The replaced the radiator and added some transmission fluid. I got in it today and started driving and it when it shifts, it hesitates and shifts hard into the next gear. I called them back and they said the the battery was disconnected and the transmission is relearning. I have had my battery disconnected before and it doesn't feel like that at all. Any suggestions what it could be? Could there be coolant in the tranny causing this problem? Could there be air in lines or what? I don't want to kill my tranny because of a radiator problem. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions before I go back to toyota. I am going to have someone flush the tranny fluid, what else could it be?
I would have a tranny FLUSH (not drain and fill) done regardless of what the dealer says...better safe then sorry.

Thanks for the info guys. If it did mix should I be able to see evidence on the dip stick? It only acts this way when I am in Park and shift to Reverse or when it shifts at RMP greater than 3000. As far as downshifting to go it hills every this is normal. I will flush it this weekend and we shall see what happens.
It may show on your dipstick but it'd be hard to determine water from air on it. Water's heavier than oil so it'll settle out at the lower parts of the system so it could get picked up by the oil pump sump and show up as a emulsion (creamy mix) on the dipstick. If there is water in the system it could take more than one drain/flush attempt to get it all out.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Well there was plenty of water in the tranny. Toyota assured me they checked it and it was fine (making a visit today to express my frustrations). It looked like pepto bismol while draining out of the pan. After changing this I had it flushed with 40 quarts of tranny fluid. I drained the pan again I can still see a slight tint in the ATF. I am going to have another flush done in the next couple of days. Anybody know what else I can do. As far as the tranny goes it feels great, like there is nothing wrong, but I know any little bit of water can cause damage to the clutches and other parts in the tranny. What else can I do, ATF can get expensive.
While a small amount of water isn't ideal it should under use boil off after the transmissions been run under operating temperatures a few times. It's the anti-freeze residual that may cause any problems that'll occur. Sounds like you've done enough flushes/changes to minimize the exposure to that product. If it were me I'd continue to drive it, monitor the operation of the transmission performance for a few weeks. Then after a few weeks pull the pan after it's been idle overnight and see if there's any evidence of residual material in the pan. I'm grateful it isn't my Tundra and I can feel your pain and frustration.

When your tranny fluid mixed with radiator fluid. Doesnt it also meant your engine also getting tranny fluid residue? I think you need a complete radiator flush overwise you will have overheating problem.
