Default Wideband O2 Senors w/ Unichip

Hello All,

I had another O2 sensor go out and read something about a wideband O2 sensor. What is a wideband O2 sensor? Will help in my configuration; unichip pnp installed? Should I just replace with a regular O2 sensor?

Thanks

Default Re: Wideband O2 Senors w/ Unichip

Wideband sensors have the capability to measure the A/F ratio at ratios other than the stochiometric [sp?] ideal of 14.7:1. They are only "usefull" if the computer software/firmware is configured to accept and use that data. The Unichip people might have a software/firmware version to accomodate wide band, but the stock OEM or Unichip setup doesn't (maybe they will in 2007?).
