Cool DIY custom exhaust pics uploaded!

Hello! I haven't been to TS in a long while and noticed quite a few changes like Lon's garage format....

Anyways, I finally got a chance to upload some pics of a homebrew exhaust setup I did a year ago. My goal was to spend minimum bucks and get great sound and I think I've achieved it!

Parts I acquired: Dynomax UltraFlo SS muffler, Borla 4" tip, Flowmaster Y-pipe, mandrel bent tubing, and a 100a DC stick welder. I think the cost was around $200 minus the $90 welder.

I decided to keep some of the stainless factory plumbing and flow path and got rid of the 49 state muffler plus lost the restrictive factory Y-pipe.

Results: after 8hrs.+ of cutting, grinding, massaging, and experimental welding, I got a new rumble at idle, quiet cruise with minimum resonance, and roaring pedal to the metal note!
Plus it looks a bit custom.

BTW, just trying to catch up on the bazillion posts here but why did Lon go to a pay per view of the garage?

Keep the shiny side up,
Mo

TUNDRACAT...

the exhaust system looks very cool, you'll have to try and make it to one of our DFW area meet's and show it off.... we should have another meet sometime in sept.

TundraCat

just keep an eye out on the Texas forum... somewhere in the state there is a meet about once a month.....i've driven to houston for a day trip before... had a blast, met great people and saw some cool mod's..... As far as our DFW meet's ..they vary at different places in the metro plex... last one as in mesquite... we try to find a place that has a decent sized parking lot, so we can all park together and stand around and b/s... we've had several at chili's over off I-35 and n.w. hwy.... kind of a central place in the metroplex.. we've never been out to plano though... lots of places we can go out there....1st meet i ever went to had 3 truck..largest had 22....probally late sept when it cools down a little wil lbe our next up here....

Very nice! Definately looks custom...do you have to keep the third cat for CA visual inspections? Would they notice if it was gone?

How do you like the 70 series flowmaster sound? Does it resonate at speed?

My UltraFlo is just right, not too loud but not to quiet. I did notice it got louder over a period of a few thousand miles.

PETA-People Always Eating Tofu...hehe
