Default Propeller Shaft Maintenance Question

I was trying to do this maintenance on my 2002 Seq today, and had problems getting my grease gun to fit over the zerk's on the drive shaft??? Is there a different size I need or does the shaft need to be in a certain position to get the grease gun in there???

Also curious if anyone else has found any loose flange yoke bolts?? I had one that needed about 1/8 of a turn...

Thanks!
Mike

Default I can help on the grease gun!

At 1st I ground the tip of a grease gun on 4 sides. But after seeing a needle adaptor discussed here I went to Sears and got a Lubrimatic #11867(sears uses9 50019 on the reciept)I put one on each gun. They work very well on all the fittings.I also use AV Lubes zerk covers to keep out dirt.

Default adaptor info

Check out this thread for more info on adaptors.....

chasis lubrication

Also, I've changed my tune a little(from what I posted in the thread above) on what type of grease. I now use mobil1 lithium base grease for all points expcept the 3 points on the double cardan joint - where I use valvoline syn lithium base with moly additive.

FYI...

The Sequoia does not have the double cardan joint. So you don't need the lithium base with moly additive.
