I haven't had the opportunity to shop elsewhere yet, but this initial price either tells me its not something worth doing, or I'm being quoted VERY dishonestly.

That was from South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa, CA by the way.

Most dealers will quote around $1000 for the TRD header install. Check with a muffler shop and you should find one that will do it for around $300.
