Default Serpentine belt noise on new Tundra DC 06'

Hi guys, I have this little anoying noise whenever engine is clold. It sounds like it's serpentine belt rubbing against something. It is not solid sound but short sound that comes back with each revolution of the belt. In other word I can see leters on the serpentine belt and whenever I see certan part of the belt I can hear the sound as well.

Once the engine warms up the sound is gone. Is that something that should be taken care of? Maybe the serpentine belt needs adjustment? Could that be bearing?

Please let me know what you thing. Thank you. Charles

one of the nice things about a 6 yr old truck is that those noises dont bother me anymore. sometimes when the dew is heavy they do it too.

The problem is that my truck is 2 weeks old. I got it with 5 miles on it. After six years it would be expected. I am just worried that something is going wrong. Anybody?

I do not have much time and I would hate to leave the car with dealer for something that's minor thing that might go away on it's own.

You don't have to listen carefuly to hear that. It is loud and obvious but it will go away after you drive the car a little bit. Sound is back when car cools completely. I was just looking for some useful input.

what i meant was sometimes a little noise means nothing, but when things r brand new one tends to fixate on them and go nuts. the belt will probably quiet back down .

My 06 does it also. It did since I took delivery. There are old posts on this forum in which others suggested replacement with an aftermarket belt, which worked to stop the noise, but mine has quietened down as the months have passed. I suspect I will leave it alone.

You can replace it with a Goodyear Gatorback belt of the same length. The Gatorback is much quieter. Do a search. There are several threads concerning this issue.

my truck does something similar. except that when the truck is cold there is no noise but as soon as the truck warms up and i hit 2 grand on the tac. it starts to squeal. my truck only has 1200 miles on it. took it to the dealer and they said it needed a new belt. covered by warranty of course. that was two weeks ago still waiting for that belt to come in so it can be replaced.

On my 2nd belt and still squealing...pretty embarassing on a top of the line vehichle. A belt noise means contact (which I doubt) or slippage which is a sign of misalignment and inefficency. Why can't this be fixed?...I wish I knew.
