Engine & DrivetrainDiscussions about the engine and drivetrain of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tundra V8 (2uzfe) swap into 91 FJ80", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
long story short I am installing a low mileage 2uzfe/A340E into an FJ80, I posted this in the engines section not knowing it was a section for all makes. I figures you Tundra guys might dig the swap since its the engine you guys hot rod here (I posted this swap here a couple of years ago as I was starting to get all the parts) here is a link to a thread with pics of the build at a Land Cruiser forum (you tundra guys share the same engine as the 100 series L.C.) FJ80 2UZFE Tundra V8 Conversion pics and build - IH8MUD.com Forum
I am going to mod this engine a bit.... if I can get 300-320 hp out of it and about 365-375 ftlb torque (doubling the factory HP and about 70% more torque) I would be thrilled. any advice you guys have on reliable mods for this engine and what has worked for you post up.

I have seen their work, very cool place. Their 2UZFE conversion is on the LC forum this links to.
I am looking for engine hop up info that you guys have done to keep reliabilty but adding HP I am looking to get about 60 HP more out of this 2UZ. I dont want to exchange reliability for performance.... I dont want to go THAT fast.
Looks like a very cool project!

Wow, what a size difference, I bet the engine had taken up some space width-wise...I wonder how much and if it means you can install any supers...looks like you can have a whole bunch of supers over there!
The kind of power gains you want are most likely going to require a supercharger or turbo charger. TRD units are hard to come by, but there are some aftermarket kits out there. Search these forums a bit more...I know the various kits have been discussed. There's a used SC kit on ebay right now.
