    Default trans guage

Guys I hate to ask cause I am sure it is in here somewhere. Problem is- I am old and my eyes get tired. So I hope you don't mind a question.
I am mounting a BM trans gauge and it says put it inline coming out of cooler/radiator return line. Which line is that on 2000 Tacoma 6 cly TRD? It tells on the instructions for GM-Ford but not Toyota.
Also adding a trans cooler too. I see different views on here as where to tie in the gauge. Also I see different views on where to mount the cooler in line -in outgoing line or return to trans line.

Can ya help an old cogger?

You might want to try another forum that is more mechanically inclined. I own a toyota too and never work on my truck. However when I owned a dodge I found dodgedakotas.com a decent site for technical questions; even if you don't own a dodge you might be able to word it to fit you needs. Hope that helps.

You want it to reflect the worse case senario, so you want it in the output line to the cooler. The input to the tranny will tell you what temp the cooled fluid is, which doesn't matter if the fluid coming out is being cooked.

As for the cooler, i believe you want the auxilary cooler before it goes into the radiator, which should not be eliminated. The reasoning behind this, as told to me by a tranny pro, is that the radiator cooler does a couple things: it obviously lowers the trans fluid temp but it also aids in warming the fluid up on cold mornings by the warm coolant flowing in the rad. Placing the aux cooler AFTER the rad would eliminate this benefit.
