This is a discussion thread titled "Bassani Exhaust ?'s", within the Engine & Drivetrain forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Bassani Exhaust... What has been everyone's experience with the Bassani exhaust? Particulary the sound while driving Does anyone have a pic of the dual rear exit set-up? Also what prices and from whom is everyone buying them from? If anyone has pics/mpeg (for sound) that would be greatly appreciated.
You can find a few audio recordings of the bassani as well as other exhaust systems at [tundras.net]. Keep in mind these recordings weren't done with the best recording equipment or will be playing back with the right acoustics but you can get an idea.
I lovvve my Bassani split sides. It sounds absolutely awesome close to 2000 RPM (cruisin speed). I got mine as a special in September from some site (can't remember what site) for $589. I get a lot of looks from people when I drive by . The children in my neighborhood stop their bikes and rush into someone's yard when I drive by. I've had absolutely no problems with it, and the quality is phenominal.

The bassani's are awesome! I wouldn't get any other exhaust, everywhere I go people always ask me what motor I have in my truck. I can't claim how much HP you gain, but I know that my parents have a Tundra and I can easily pull away from them off the line and never look back. Great system but a little spendy now, I paid $485.00 when it firs came out. (split side rear)
Thanks everyone for the info.. especially the pics. I have never been able to get the tundra.net site to open. Is there a browser setting that needs to be corrected to open that site?
Yeah the price on the Bassani's have gone up alot. I picked mine up from their website for $600 back on 4/01.....now it's about a grand. Wish I had the cash when Alaskan Tundra had the group buy going...
Here's a pic of what the tips look like:
i have a bassani dual rear exit and muffler not sure of the exact model combined with a AEM brute force cold air intake. I consitantly get over 20 mpg at 70mph freeway but its to loud for a family vehicle as mine will be. Its a lot louder form the drivers seat. Just bought the truck if someone wants the exhaust make me an offer that would put a quality quieter exhaust on my 2003 ltd tundra and I'll cut it off and ship it. email me for pics or more info russ1@coolgoose.com. its mint, the truck came from the desert and the guy i bought it from did not even know how to get in to 4 lo. i will probably get rid of the intake as well as i'm worried it will reduce the engine life and i like them to go for ever.

get rid of the intake for sure, put the stock setup back in and be sure to get a toyota air filter.
I have the dual in/dual out straight rear with the X-muffler. It is a true dual and the muffler acts as an X or H pipe. Since there is no resonator now I thought this might be really loud but I was plesantly suprised, deep sound, no 2K drone and a nice glass pack burble when letting off the gas (glass pack tips) I LOVE THIS EXHAUST!
I had a JBA Y-pipe, removed factory resonator and the Flowmaster cat back system which had a resonator and 50 series muffer, it was straight rear exit and I had 3" Stainless straight cut rolled lip tips 18" long from Summit. It was obnoxious, too loud when on the gas and droned pretty bad. I lost some low end too, it picked up after 2500-3000 rpm.
The Bassani brought back the low end and pulls hard all the way through. Plus it is stainless steel so no need to worry about replacing it. I got it from autoanything.com they will price match and I got free shipping. It was cheaper through AAXEL.com, but autoanything beat the price by a few bucks and shipped for free.
