Had this built a couple years ago but the Tundra is on family duty and it has to go:( It was built by a guy who's living room was covered in trophies so I figured he knew his stuff. It was built for a Diamond Audio D9 10" and has plenty of airspace but was designed for tight clean bass....it'll hit hard though and resonate nicely through the cab being that it's downfire. It was covered by a reputable upholsterer in the closest color leather he could find. I paid $650 to have it built and covered, I'd like $425obo.

on my 01 tundra ac cab and i dont know why. i replaced my fogs with 6" leds and wired them into the factory harness and everything worked perfectly. but now nothing works. so i unplugged the leds and still nothing. im able to flash the hi-beams and the light on the hi-beam symbol on the cluster comes on. but when i turn on the headlights nothing but the parking lights come on (blinkers and hazards still work). and if i turn on the high beams the symbol on the dash doesnt turn on nor do the lights. i checked, rechecked, then checked again all the fuses i pulled every single one on the truck. theyre all fine. i checked the relays. they click when the parking lights come on and when i flash the hi-beams. but nothing else. i even swapped the drl, fog, and headlight relays and still nothing. so now im at a loss and dont know what to do. is there another relay buried under the dash that could possibly be bad? maybe a diode somewhere if there are any?

any help ideas will be greatly appreciated cause im at a loss and dont know what to do.
heres a pic of when everything worked.

silicon in an oil analysis

Oil Analyzers Newsletter

Does the presence of silicon in an oil analysis...

Oil Analyzers Newsletter
Allen Bender, Manager

Does the presence of silicon in an oil analysis mean I have dirty oil?

While a motor oil analysis report that is flagged for an abnormal amount of silicon can indicate the presence of dirt in the oil, that isn’t always the case. Labs usually flag silicon once it reaches 20 ppm or more, which often suggests abrasives are the source and the oil should be changed. While this is possibly the case, silicon is the second-most abundant element in the earth’s crust and can come from a variety of non-abrasive sources.

First, silicon can be found in motor oil as an anti-foam additive, usually at levels of 10 ppm or less.

Silicone will also show up as silicon in an analysis, which can mean silicone is leaching into the oil from fresh gaskets or silicone sealant. This is often seen in the first oil sample following engine repairs and is not detrimental to the oil.

Silicon can also come from a coolant leak if the coolant has silicates in its formula. Other tests will confirm whether coolant is the source.

That leaves common dirt. Dirt can be identified by the presence of silicon coupled with aluminum at a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio. That would indicate the aluminum is not from wear metal, rather, it is from dirt (aluminum is the third-most common element in the earth’s crust). Speaking of wear metals, if your oil does contain dirt, you will see an increase in iron levels and possibly other metals as well.

If oil analysis confirms the presence of dirt and wear metals, change the oil and filter. If the amount of contamination is flagged as severe, you might want to flush the engine as well. Finally, find and repair the area allowing dirt into your engine (usually a gap in the air intake system) to prevent more damage.

2011 Rock Warrior Crew Max 4X4 with some aftermarket options:
Leather, which I do like
Carbon Fauxber dash kit which I am indifferent on.
Headlights and Taillights which I do like
Pedals, Meh

It seems a little high, even for dealer retail... as usually aftermarket stuff does not add to the resale value that much.

Edmunds would put it at $27k trade in, $28K Private Party, and $31K retail.

They have had it for a while at this non-Toyota dealiership, so I am looking to get a deal.

One is to use your e-brake every time you park to keep those dang bellcranks from seizing up and having to do the work/take the time to clean/replace/pay for new parts.

I like to wipe all the door/cab seals with a little SuperLube to keep them in good condition. I had a Corvette and it was a well known problem where the seals would degrade fast but keeping them lubed was essential to long-life.

One thing I did just the other day was to lube my tailgate catches and I found that my passenger side catch bolts were loose.

I think it is a good idea to pull the brake pad retaining pins and either lube/wirebrush or sand them every now and then lest they seize in place. I had to cut mine with a dremel and then punch them out last summer and it was not fun at all. I will pull them and either grease or neverseize them from now on so it doesn't happen again.

Anyone have any other of these little things we can do to stop bigger problems from happening down the road?

I felt that you guys don't get enough recognition on here. So I wanted to make a seperate post saying thank you.

Yesterday I managed to kill my battery at lunch by leaving my headlights on. So I had my friend jump me. Well after I started the truck up something was seriously wrong. It was idling wrong and the throttle wouldn't go any higher than 1500RPM. When I put it in nuetral or drive it would rev sporatically from 500-1500 rpm. I was convinced that I blew the transmission. Then I started playing and was starting to think it was a sensor thing.

Well I was about to call a tow truck and have it towed to the closest shop and have them look at it. So we are talking probably $300-500 for the tow and shop diagnostics. Before I did that though, I decided to buy a cheap OBDII scanner. I scanned it and threw the code it gave me on the forum search here.

The first post I opened said something about the ECU possibly being bad. But one of the first responses to that said to check the fuse box and look for the throttle control fuse. Guess what? That's all it was. A $1 10 amp fuse was blown.

Thanks to you guys it only cost me about $60 for the Scanner and a pack of fuses. Otherwise a shop would have charged me hundreds. So I just wanted to say thank you.

BTW What happened was my friend hooked his side of the jumper cables up backwards and managed to blow that fuse in my truck.
