Hey guys! I've got one of my rear doors that won't hold itself open on even the slightest incline. Is there an easy way to adjust the tension of the spring so it holds itself open better?

My other rear door squeaks when I open it, what is the recommended lubricant for these springs?

Thanks!

Hi all,
I've been doing some research on the site here but am still in need of some guidance. I'm looking at buying this part here:
https://www.toyotapartsbarn.com/part...layCatalogid=0

My questions are:

1) Is my steering wheel prewired to allow me to simply plug this control in at the wheel (I have the factory JBL system w/single CD)?

2) How do I install and mount the control to my existing wheel?

3) Is that all I need, or do I really need a new airbag or airbag cover?

Thanks for the help!
-Mike

i cant find any where, its almost as nobody lifts sequoias? I had a lifted 2004 Tundra with 285s, i loved it, post some lifted pics if you got any, yours or not..

the 2004s have 4 speed AT and 2005-07 have 5 speed correct? was it in 05 or 06 when they added some other features for better traction?? I think there was some kind of button on the left side of the dash... ATCF or something like that?? and i think 05 they added some feature to the cam, and got more power out of the 4.7??

im trying to look for a 05-07, but not sure if they are ALL the same, or if some have some extra good features worth paying extra for

Picked up and 02 and am throwing codes P0440, P0441 & P0446. I cleared them and they came back on within a day.

Apparently Toyota replaced the gas cap, replaced the hose going from gas cap spout to gas tank, and replaced one other thing (will have to check the records as I forgot what the 3rd things was!) - all to no avail. It was at this point Toyota told the PO's to basically jut deal with the CEL. Pretty ridiculous response coming from Toyota so I am going to try and find the vacuum leak most likely causing the problem.

I have checked all the vacuum lines around the intake and under the hood, all look fine.

Where is the charcoal canister on the Sequoia? Anyone have any other ideas as to where I can look. I HATE having a CEL.

TIA,

Guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Recently picked up an 02 Sequoia needing a little work. I sold my supercharged Infiniti QX56 to a wonderful family and took the Sequoia as a partial trade. (Not a car dealer, just was perfect timing as I was plannong on buying a Sequoia anyway.)

It is an 02 Limited 4x4 with about 173k. Maintenance has been done at Toyota and they have a large amount of records available :)

Some current problems:

As per Toyota the Transfer Case has gone bad. Toyota wanted $4k for replacement, I bought a used one with 46k on it and am replacing it myself this weekend.

Throwing codes P0440, P0441 & P0446. I cleared them and they came back on within a day. Apparently Toyota replaced the gas cap, replaced the hose going from gas cap spout to gas tank, and replaced one other thing - all to no avail. It was at this point Toyota told the PO's to basically jut deal with the CEL. Pretty ridiculous response coming from Toyota so I am going to try and find the vacuum leak most likely causing the problem.

Anyway, I will start a thread on this, but wanted to give a basic introduction.

Nice to meet everyone. I am in Tulsa, OK. Seems to be a couple of Pokes around here :thumb:

Question Diff lockers for 1Gen Sequoia?

If I understand correctly, my 2005 4x4 Sequoia has a lockable centre differential but no lockers for the front and rear diffs (whether or not they are of the limited slip type I don't know, but I assume not).

If I continue to understand correctly this means that when the conditions are slippery, one wheel on each axle is powered, and the powered wheels are the ones with the least amount of traction.

Assuming I am correct, here come the questions:

Are diff lockers available for the 1Gen Sequoia?
How are they engaged (and disengaged)?
Where's a good place to get them?
How much can I expect to pay?
What's involved in installing them?

Thanks,
John.

Hello,

I'm looking to do the 90k mile service on our 04 Sequoia. After doing a search and looking through some of the previous timing belt threads, I think I've got my list of parts to buy:

Timing belt & Tensioner
Water pump, WP gasket, both O-rings
Thermostatstat and gasket
Serpentine belt & Tensioner
Radiator Hoses- lower and higher & radiator cap
PCV valve
Idler pulley & Tensioner pulley
Spark plugs

Also plan on having the coolant changed out as well.

So here's my question, where's the best place I can buy these parts? Note, I only want to use genuine Toyota parts.

I have seen a couple of vendors on this forum like Sparks Toyota-TRD & tacozilla (Shannon from toyotaworld.com). I've also seen some members using http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/- Bob Bridge Toyota.

Are there other sites/places that provide good service and cheap pricing? Could you give me your recommendations on who I should order parts from?

I don't think I've missed anything on my list above but if I did, please let me know. Finally, is it necessary to go to platinum plugs or should I just stick with the regular ones?

Thanks in advance - Joe

Like so many of us the lights for my TRAC/VSC are staying on. The Seq is also making a grinding noise (vsc working?) under the brake pedal and the brake system sounds like it is tearing apart for about 4 seconds. I read that disconneting the VSC wiring under the hood will stop this but can someone post a pic (or send me one) of what harness needs to be disconnected? There are too many to choose from. Many thanks...
