I have a 2007 Tundra with an Flow Master exhaust. I really enjoy the "throaty" sound, but there are just times that I need for it to be quiet. I know that they make removable exhaust baffles for racing type applications and motorcycles, but do they make anything that I might be able to use for my truck? Also, any information on them or how they work would be awesome.

Thanks in advance ~

Q1: where to buy

OK, I'm going to go w/ the TRD dual exhaust setup on my 06 Double Cab.
Will do the install myself.

Looking for the best price on this product and info/advice from anyone that's already done it.

I'm all for supporting site sponsors as long as their price is close to the best I can do elsewhere. (they don't have to be best price but it should be in the ballpark)

I'm already entering the Sparks Toyota gift certificate thing, here's hoping.
Their price isn't bad either but there has to be someone out there dumping stock for a truck that's 4-5 model years old.

Q2: Do I remove the stock exhaust back to the CAT and then install 2 new sections?
Thinking it must be that way but the few pics I've seen in the online catalogs only show 1 tailpipe and I'm not understanding that.

Any gotchas on the install?

Should I consider the Bassini's ???

And yes, I know, my local muffler shop could do a nice setup for less money but;
1) I want stainless steel
2) the lazy bashterd dragged azz on an old project of mine that took months and months
3) the other local guy that does decent work jammed me on a different project and I don't feel like dealing with him for a while

Some research:

Does Sparks do 25% off the web price for TS members ?!?!?!?
I can't believe they would but that could seal the deal as they say.

Does anyone know if those exhaust tips with lining inside them and those with fins inside actually affect the exhaust tone and in some cases supposedly reduce noise? If so, what tips will reduce exhaust noise?

Before becoming a member, I was seeing so many members here running spintech mufflers. Mostly the sportsman xl series. This was when I searched using google rather than using the site itself so these were older threads. Now it looks like I'm the only one with a spintech! what happened? did I miss something?

They say you gotta have Mandrel Bent exhaust pipes for best performance. OK.
The pipes should get larger at each stage; cat-back, muffler back. OK.

While changing the oil, I went back and photographed my exhaust. I keep wondering what I would replace to get better MPG.

No 'krinkle bend' here.

This bend is smooth.

Here too.

'Crossover' looks good.

Pretty clean for 80,000 miles.

WTF! The only one in the entire pipe.

Anyway, is there an economical exhaust modification to up the MPG?
