Question Doors lock with NO beep and Interior lights stay on?!

So last week my truck stopped beeping when I hit the lock on the key FOB and it made a locking sound twice the I could hear. So I found out that when I press the door jam button, the rubber piece in, the interior lights still don't go off with no beep but the doors will lock. So I figured it was just the door jam rubber piece. So I replaced it today and things still are not right. Doors still locking twice and no beep and the interior lights still won't go off. ( and yes I have the lights set to door on only and not on all the time). What else could be wrong??? I don't have any clue what else could possibly be wrong besides the cable has shorted out somewhere. Anyone have any clues??? I'm stumped. It is so nerve racking not hearing the beep going off when i lock the doors cause I'm not sure if it locked my truck or not. I did a search and didn't come up with anything close. Thanks for the help guys.

Hi -

I'm looking at purchasing a Tundra to tow a boat and trailer of about 7000 lbs.

The truck I'm looking at, the owner says it has 4.10 gears and the tow/haul option. I thought the tow package added the 4.30 gears. How do I tell if it has the towing package that will tow the listed 10,000 lbs?

Well I got my new platinum and was dead set on adding a supercharger and TRD exhaust. I am now...

Well I got my new platinum and was dead set on adding a supercharger and TRD exhaust. I am now realizing that $6500 for the SC and install just seems ridiculous. I have the money to do it but just cant seem to wrap my head around the price tag and value of the upgrade. I am thinking of just doing the TRD intake and TRD exhaust and calling it good. The only reason for the SC is to a smile on my face each time I hammer it but I am not so sure its worth that much money. When I had a 2000 Tacoma the SC was like $2500 and $700 install and well worth it but on the Tundra it just seems priced too high.

What do you guys think about the TRD intake and Exhaust combo? I already am familiar with the TRD intake because I had it on my last 2009 Tundra and loved it so that is a certainty. The exhaust my wife is already complaining if its loud she wont like it. I just want some good healthy sound but nothing annoying at cruise speeds.

So give me some thoughts about the SC and if its worth the cost. Also with the feedback from others having misfire issues I am scared about risking that amount of money on something that may have issues. I understand its the internet and what we read is often obscured but I wonder just how much truth there is to the misfires and SC related issues.

The truck took a stone that starred the glass bottom center. Few days later, it spread over 75% of the bottom, horizontally. I figured if I had had the star repaired, it would likely have split anyway so I saved 80$.

Got a local quote from a business who contracts with my carrier for insurance but uses Safelite or "that" company. They do NOT have a good referral record unfortunately.

The local quote was a cash (not covered by ins. price) of $407. He said the insurance quote would come in lower.

I have as of yet to call my carrier (cause I think I have a $500 deductible anyway), but was thinking that $407 was HIGH. I have the heat strip at the bottom for the wiper blades and this was pPG replacement glass - OEM me thinks.

I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra SR5 DBL Cab TRD. Im Towing a Outdoors RV Timber Ridge Travel Trailer with a max capacity of 8000lbs. I was curious to see what my actual weights of the fully loaded truck and trailer combined with a 500lb ATV in the box of the truck.
Here were my findings at the scales.

Front Axel 2976lbs
Rear Axel 4608lbs
Trailer 3010lbs

The GVWR of the truck is 7100lbs and My findings say that my actual is 7584lbs. 500lbs over the trucks GVWR. Goodbye ATV.
BUT I am within the GCWR. Trucks rating is 15500lbs and my actual is 14218lbs. 1282lbs under the truck GCWR. yay.

I was using a weight distrubution hitch. Is there any other ideas on how to transfer the wieight across the truck to the front axel.

I have started noticing a strange noise when making slow speed turns. Specifically left hand turns. It sounds like a grinding metallic sound, almost as if I were dragging something. I've checked underneath and nothing obvious. Can't tell if it's coming form the front or back. It does not seem to matter if I am braking or not. It does however seem to be louder when the turn is sharper.

Any ideas what it could be? Anyone experienced similar?

I know this really belongs in the Detailing forum, but I actually want people to see it so..

Always wondered if clay bars were worth the time and money. Mother's detail kits (bar, detail spray, microfibre cloth) were on sale at Canadian Tire, so I picked one up. Only took about a 3/4 hour to cover the whole truck (didn't do the roof or tailgate yet). The bar definitely picked up a lot of particles off the body. After about every 2 square feet I had to fold in the bar to a fresh surface. I haven't waxed the truck since late September or early October. This is after a Canadian winter in the Rocky Mountains with about 5000km of highway driving.

Overall I think it was worth the effort.

I'll post again after I wax it tomorrow night.

I just purchased a set of 18 inch wheels for my 2012 CM Platinum, that I will be using as my snow set up. I also have a chance to purchase a nice set of Blizzak DM-V1 265/60-18 at a reasonable price. Do you think this size will be OK with my truck? I believe the recommended factory sizes for 18" wheels are 255/70-18 & 275/65-18. I understand the 265/60-18 will slightly be smaller in diameter and will effect my speedometer reading slightly (but I'm not too concern about this, as this will strictly be used for winter driving). In addition, the load rating for these tires are 110 and my current tire's load rating is 111. Is this a significant difference? Any other issues with going with the smaller 265/60-18?

Thanks in advance.

The catalytic converter on my 05 Tundra got stolen on the passenger side 4 months ago. Now, I found out the cat on the driver side got cut half of it at the rear. I guess the f**king thief didn't finish his stealing due to someone else getting close by.

Seriously, I don't think it's worth the stealing, because used cats are sold on for around $100, more or less. New cats are very expensive, however. The penalty for it can be a few months in jail. I'd like to know how many of us Tundra owners had your cat stolen, or how you did fix yours, or how you prevented the stealing.
