differential fluid question

Well my trucks been to the dealership and back because they couldn't duplicate my rear grinding noise. So after seeing some other tundra owners with similar trucks have the same problem ive decided I need to add a differential additive. Problem is I just paid to have the front and rear changed, and then had them re-change it again for free when the noise was still there. So I really dont want to have to drain the fluid again and pay for more.
So I was wondering if its possible to drain just enough fluid for the additive to go in there? Or do I pretty much have to go get a air line and change the differential fluid again by myself? Any information would be great thanks!

My 99 pre-runner with an 2.7 liter started running funny. Then when it was warmed up it would smooth out. After about 2 weeks it would only start and sounded as if it was running on only three cylinders. The shop I took it to, told me the exhaust valves on # 4 cylinder were stuck open. Is there any way to unstick them? The shop didn't say any thing about the valves being bent and offered to buy the truck from me. Or charge me 850.00 for a used motor and install it for 1200.00. The truck was running very well even with the 200,000 plus miles. Can anyone help??

Hello everyone,

Where exactly is the ATF Fill plug? I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab Limited 4WD. The plug is supposedly somewhere around a 22-24mm bolt on the side of the transmission. I can't seem to find it!

Is it on the driver's side, or the passenger side? In the front or rear of the transmission? I can't seem to find it. How easy is it to get to - is something else in the way of getting easy access to it?

I know where the drain plug, and the "check" plugs are on the bottom of the pan - those are easy.

Can anyone help me out? I'd like to get this done this weekend before the weather gets too cold!

Ok looking to see if I can get some help because I don’t know what to do or have no clue what it could be. The last couple of days there have been 3 times or so that my truck has not wanted to shift from second to third at all and it’s getting on my nerves and it goes up to red line and I don’t want to mess my transmission up any more than it already is now. But for a while now my truck as been shifting hard from first to second where it is like a delayed shift. But I have never had a problem with second to third and so on. So any help or ideas of what it could be would be very helpful it’s a 2000 tundra with 126xxx miles on it.
Thank you
Dan

I've had a 2007 Tundra 5.7L 2WD since May of this year, so this problem is new to me. Since the weather is getting colder, the morning temps are 35 to 40, and I've noticed that the shift from 2nd to 3rd takes longer. I let the engine "warm" for 2-3 mins. and it takes @ a mile before the trans. shifts from 2nd to 3rd. The engine revs. to @2000 rpm before it lunges to 3rd. It happens in S or D mode. Is this normal? and will it get worse as the temps go down?

I couldn't find a picture of the stock exhaust headers so I have no way to know for sure what they look like.
