Does anyone else have a snowplow on their FJ?

What plows will fit the FJ? I've been stuck using my Tundra to plow since I replaced a Wrangler with the FJ.

I have a snowbear plow on my FJ that did a great job on 8" of snow today. It weighs about 200# and is the same one in my avatar pict. I just had to buy a new mount when I transferred it to the FJ. Plow sells for around $1200 from "snowbear.com" and you can get them at some Lowes/homedepots/menards or online. The cost of the vehicle adapter is included in the price. This is my 5th. year plowing snow with it and its durable and no glitches---I live in Michigans upper peninsula so we get mega snow and it gets used a lot. It is not for commercial plowing.

My first plow was a Snow Bear, had it on a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Sold the jeep and plow to a friend who still uses it. Bought a Sno-Way's ST series poly plow used it on a 02 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. When I got rid of the Wrangler I switched it over to my 05 Tundra DC.
I was hoping someone would come out with a power angle plow for the FJ.

I think Sno-Bear or one of the other 3 or 4 companies they're associated with does have a power angle blade available at their site.

So how's the sno-way work on your Tundra? Did you have to cut the bumper to mount the pushplate?

I'm considering a plow for my 06, and wondering which way to go. The Snow bear and similar plows seem awfully light. I worry it wouldn't last. We've got a pretty long gravel driveway with a decent hill at one end, and I just think I'd crush a light plow. We've had 18" already, and the pile at the end of the driveway is 5 feet high, 5 feet wide, and 25 feet long.

Having grown up in the NE, I have spent quite some time behind the wheel of a plow setup.

We used to laugh at short whee=based vehicles back then because they sucked at plowing snow in general.

Is this FJ actually GOOD at it?

It just doesn't seem heavy enough to support a heavy enough plow to cut all the way down, and with the short wheel base it would seem like sticky snow would make the back end come off the ground when trying to lift the plow with a load of snow still on the blade.

Also seems like it would affect the steering in bad weather as well with that little wheelbase.

We always used Western brand plow systems, and I see they have a Suburbanite line, but no setup for the FJ in particular..

I would think that FJ really wouldn't need a plow with a good NARROW set of snow tires anyway.. No?

Thumbs up Re: FJ Cruiser Snowplow

I use the plow for my long hilly driveway down to the lake not so much for myself as for company--its not a commercial plow.
