Hey everyone, my father is looking to purchase an FJ and is waiting till there is an improvement in airflow for the rear seats and storage area. We have a dog that goes everywhere with us and especially on our fishing trips. Unfortunately she also likes to roll around in the mud and dead fish so she often has a rank odor after we slay some salmon.
The question at hand is whether or not Toyota will offer a rear window that rolls down and/or side windows that open. His only other concern is the large blind spot due to the large B pillar at the back of the suicide door. What is your opinion on these two issues? Any suggestions? Thanks for your input.

The design of the FJ as a retro vehicle, and I stress the word DESIGN as being the catalyst for the car itself, is to keep it as close to its 60's and 70's counterpart.
Want 4 doors? Want a set of roll down windows and no blind spot?
The back window does open, you have to hold the key counter clockwise in the cylinder for about 3 seconds to "pop" it. Also on the visibility, i dont think it will ever change which is why Toyota introduced the backup sensors. There are aftermarket backup cameras that can be put in as well.

The only place my dog gets to my car is my pickup truck's bed. It's open air, dogs love it and it has bed-liner so odor was never a problem. Bottom line for me is... no dog "inside" my car!
IMHO, you need a pickup truck something like Honda Ridgeline.

I have a Tundra CM SR5 with a 5.7L. My dad is more interested in the FJ and with the plastic flooring, size, shape, and variety of aftermarket products. For him the ride quality is better than a Jeep or anything of that sort.
