Default Octane Booster

Hi Guys - I bought some Penzoil Octane Booster for my 2007 FJ Cruiser so that I can use low grade (87 octane) as that's all we have in our little town way up here. Is this a good idea??

Shouldn't be necessary.... As reading here will attest, most of us have been using 87 since we bought our FJ's, with the blessing of our dealers, with no pinging or problems. I've had one tank of high test in 27000 km, and saw no difference vs the 87 I use otherwise.
You'll find lots of discussion on this topic though.

That's great - thanks for the info. Since I've already bought the stuff, I may use it up, the octane booster shouldn't cause any problems, eh?

TOO much of it will mess up plugs quickly so do not mix it on the rich side of reccomeded quantity!

What do you think, if I mix it with 87 Octane gas, will that overdo it?

You should be just fine. I would use it from time to time on my former 05' Tacoma... I have an FJ now and use premium fuel..... Runs real nice...
