Unhappy Roof rack removal-- painful

Hi Guys
I recently had to remove my roof rack cos my FJ wouldnt fit in the parking garage. I brought in the costly white plugs for the roof but it wouldnt fit in properly. more over it rained here recently and the water seeped in thru those holes in top inspite of the white plugs.
Please tell me what is the exact way of putting those white plugs and do i have to put the bolts in back before i out the white pulgs? bottom line - can you guys tell me the steps after removal of roof rack?
thanks

Here is your fix!!!!

when you remove all of the bolts and the roof rack comes off. Take the metal plate off the bottom of the rack foot. Get a tube of silicone, put a bead under the metal piece, then bolt it down. You should be tight as a drum then, I took the rack off every winter and this was my method, it worked great and never purchased those overpriced white caps either!

I know my comment is of no use to you...but I would have found somewhere else to park. The FJ's w/o the rack do not look as good...besides you payed good money to have to remove it. Thats JMO.
