I dont recall being invited to a TS meet. I had the FJ for one week and then had to give it back

Default Transfer Case Lever???

Is that a true lever I see rather than the cheesy switch or buttons they use in the other new Toyotas?

I don’t mean to be condescending but where did you get your specs from? Here are the specs I have right from Toyota, and you can compare it to the H3. Also it'll have a 6 speed manual option and 5 speed auto. The fully loaded off road model with 32" tires the rear locker and the rest of the off road goodies will only come in a 6 speed I heard.

06 H3
Length- 186.7 inches
Width- 74.7 inches
Height- 73.7 inches
Wheelbase 111.9 inches

06 Tacoma Access 4x4
Length- 208.1 inches
Width- 74.5 inches
Height- 69.9 inches
Wheelbase- 127 inches

07 FJ Cruiser
Length- 177 inches
Width- 74.6 inches
Height- 70.9
Wheelbase- 105.9

Also after seeing the FJ next to a 4runner I can say with certainty that it is smaller than the H3, and a lot shorter than the Tacoma. It's built on a slightly shorter 4runner platform so the dimensions are about the same, and the Tacoma is based on a lengthened 4runner platform. The whole driveline and suspension is almost identical between the 4runner, FJ, and Tacoma. The one thing I like that is different is that the new FJ had a manual transfer case shifter like you said which is unlike the 4runner and Tacoma. Mechanically the transfer case is the same as the Tacoma and 4runner minus the electric actuator. In fact it’s the same transfer case as is found in the GX470, which is basically a Lexus 4runner.

Sorry, my bad, I should have clarified that its how I felt driving around not actual facts. I didnt have a spec sheet in front of me when I responded. Next time I will. Good day.

Default cruiser

When you get to test the all new 07 Tundra let us all know Personally I'll be honest I hate the FJ cruiser look's downright ugly like a Honda Element just in a league of it's own being in 4wd and in a two door wagon .Maybe other parent companies like BMW Mini group with come out with a Mini SUV 2 door I would be next in line for that that Mini SUV. The mini styling has allway's captioned my eye not some bread box on 4 wheel's. Even today Cooper's turns head's because it's different and A league of it's own. Guess Toyota wanted to take a chance on this FJ cruiser but given what it looks like I feel Toyota needs a better Niche suv maybe bring back something like a jeep based wrangler and call it TD(top's down) cruiser with v8 power I can only wish right (LOL)..

I hope everyone thinks like you do. Maybe there will be a bunch left on the lots for cheap and I can get me one. I have to admit I have not had the "I have to have one of those" feeling in 20 years. For that time a truck was just transportation to me, nothing more. This FJ Cruiser has breathed new life into me when it comes to passion about a vehicle. I don't know why, I just love it. Can't wait.

I wonder how the new FJ will compare to the H3 for off road performance. At least it's 100% Toyota and NOT a glorified GM like the H3 is.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The last time I felt this way was when Marty McFly got his brand new 1985 XtraCab 4WD Toyota in Back to the Future. I wanted that truck soooooo badly.

The 4runner is built on the LC Prado frame so it's all the same.
